Default 55 Rt/Mo Hydra Farming Build

Now, I know what you are thinking right about now, "A 55 Rt/Mo? Wtf are you smoking, they have no direct damage spells!" Now, in turn this is partially true, but I have been running this build for sometime now and it seems to be working fine for me, though slow, it's cheap, easy to manage and can help you raise the funds for that 55 Monk you always wanted to make. Anyhow, without further ado, let me introduce the 55 Rt/Mo Hydra Build!

Gear

Use any good Channeling Wand you have. I use the 5k Crafters Wand directed outside of Marketplace which gives me Energy +5 While over 50% Health and Halves Casting Time of Channeling Skills 20%. The Offhand should be the -50 HP Cesta which can be easily bought for 5-10k or recieved from doing the Tyrian Quest, Cities of Ascalon.

Your armor should be as follows:

Halcyon's Shing Jea Shoes - Cheapest Sup rune of the Ritualist Skills
Halcyon's Shing Jea Raiment - Sup Rune of Restoration
Halcyon's Shing Jea Leggings - Sup Rune of Spawning
Halcyon's Shing Jea Bangles - Sup Rune of Communing
Channeler's Shing Jea Headwrap - Sup Rune of Channeling

Attributes

The attributes should be as followed:

16 Channeling Magic
9 Healing Prayers
9 Protection Prayers
(You will have 7 Attribute Points left-over. You can either not do anything with them, or just put them in random attributes)

Skills

Now time for the Skills that MAKE the build and a little info about WHY I chose them.

Ancestor's Rage -A nice little skill that will hit ALL adjacent foes for 106 Lightning Damage, this skill is best used while Spirit Rift is recharging.

Spirit Rift - This skill opens a spirit rift at target foe's location and at 16 Channeling Magic it will hit for 121 Lightning Damage. You MUST cast this on the middle Hydra in the mob to show the true area and damage of the Spirit Rift. This skill is more about placement then it is timing.

Cruel Was Daoshen - This skill needs to be timed. Since this spell makes you gain 50 health, you will be walking around with +50 Health leaving you at 105. In the midst of battle, quickly cast this spell, then drop it as soon as possible to reduce your chances of dying. This skill can help finish off the last Hydra left or maybe even speed up the process.

Protective Spirit - The one skill that will keep you alive. This skill make it so you can't lose more then 10% of your maximum health for 16 seconds.

Healing Breeze - This skill will give you +7 Pips of regen and will keep you alive. Truely compliments the Protective Spirit's damage management.

Mending - Aids in Healing Breeze's health regen. +3 CONSTANT health regen while maintaining this enchantment is a nice addition.

Essence Bond - We are using this for the +1 Energy everytime you are hit with an attack or spell.

Balthazar's Spirit - Same as Essence Bond.

Solo UW!?

Yes, this IS possible, but will take awhile and perfect timing. You will switch out Cruel Was Daoshen for Spell Breaker, and since you don't have a Monk's Primary Attribute, Divine Favor, this skill will only last you for 5 seconds, but at the rate at which you will kill the Dying Nightmare's, 5 seconds is all you will honestly need. Try this on your own, when I have time I will edit this thread and post a video

Credits

This build would have never came to my idea if it wasn't for A.net to create such a versatile character in the game of Guildwars. I, for one, credit myself for even putting together this build, though I may not be the first, I know that this build wasn't even posted here or on any forums for that matter. I want to think my guildies for motivating me and making this build possible. I also want to think the people at Guildwarsguru for making me post this guide.

Questions?

If you have any questions regarding this build, send me a PM on here, post a reply,OR in game at Lifes Contradiction. I am ALWAYS willing to show this build to ANYONE that is nice enough to ask. Please refrain from flaming this thread, this was put here to help people who couldn't afford "godly" farmers and is here to help make poor people, somewhat rich. If you have any critique or suggestions, post here. It's always nice to get some feedback on something

It seems solid enough to farm the hydras, but I would rather stick with a 55 monk for solo-ing UW. But then again, when you going to solo UW, the key is stay alive while doing damage over time. It should work for UW. It follows the same guidelines as a 55 monk but instead of smiting, channeling is used.
The only possible issues that I see with this build are the 9 protection prayers and possible interrupts for the channeling. The shortened Protective Spirit could be an issue, although unlikely, and the casting time on Spirit Rift may cause it to be interrupted in UW.

Edit: Nice job on this build.

Thanks for the input, but interuppting ISN'T a problem. I have a 16 second PS, which actually does perfectly fine. This build IS for those who can't afford a 55 Monk. It's cheap and easy to maintain. Just timing is the key and patience.
